Black Oolong
红乌龙
Harvest
May 2024
Origin
Alishan, Taiwan
This delicious experimental oolong, crafted as a black tea, smells compellingly like sunbaked fruit, burnt sugar and warm metal. It is perfect for those who enjoy the warm quality of black tea, but prefer a smooth and clearing mouthfeel. While this tea’s aroma is deep and full, it passes delicately across the palate, without any resistance. Later infusions move into a more classic black tea palate, with its fruity notes coming forward and a light astringency lifting it at the edges of the mouth.
The unique minerality that the oolong leaves impart balance out the characteristics from the black tea craftsmanship in a fascinating way. This hybrid character ensures it will never bore you. On top of that, this tea makes a delicious cold brew. Its delicious black sugar notes make us think that boba lovers would appreciate it very much!
