Taste of the Mountain

April 2020

Jinggu, Yunnan

This pu erh is from the old-growth forests some eight kilometers away from Mr. Tang's organic tea farm. The environment is pristine, the trees are strong and healthy, and the forest is vibrant and abundant. The trees for this pu erh are between 200 to 400 years old. They are wild arbor tea trees, thriving in the forest unattended. The leaves are harvested only once a year; the energy of the trees and roots is concentrated in these spring leaves.

Mr. Tang is a very special tea farmer; he is committed to organic and biodynamic farming methods and all his teas are either organic or from wild arbor trees. He crafts the teas himself with the utmost patience and care, adhering to traditional craftsmanship.

This tea is extremely complex, deep and refined, with a depth of flavor that can only be found in teas from trees of this age. It is smooth yet penetrating with strength, full of vibrant energy and with a very long aftertaste. The energy of the forest, the trees and its deep roots are very apparent with each infusion.
