Matcha "Matsu no Shiro"

There is a striking opacity to this deep green matcha powder. It has a perfumed, mouth coating complexity brightened by a fruity acidity. Its long, evolving after taste is such a pleasure – it seems to extend itself for our enjoyment.

Origin: Uji, Kyoto

Size: 39g tin

2g ⋅ 80°C ⋅ 30ml ⋅ bamboo whisk

Ryuoen from Kyoto makes their matcha from tea grown on their own fields in Uji. Their company has been in business since 1875, and their tea shop in Kyoto has been selling their Uji matcha for over a century. They say time softens things, and we feel this in the matcha they produce.
