Cultivate is looking for a tea enthusiast to join our team at the shop on Main Street.

This is an entry level position with room for growth.  After a period of time familiarizing themselves with our business, our approach to hospitality, and our products the Shop Associate will be responsible for opening and closing the store, managing inventory, guiding clients in their selections, and hosting tea tastings. 

This position will start as 3 days/15-20 hours per week under the supervision of the Shop Manager. It is intended to quickly become a self-directed role, and is thus well suited to someone with excellent attention to detail, swiftness in multitasking, and who naturally takes initiative and responsibility towards tasks. 

Experience with hospitality, customer service, and retail is an asset, but most important is an enduring interest in tea and contemporary tea culture. 

We believe that if the interest is there, the rest will come, and welcome any level of experience with tea. We look forward to educating the successful applicant on the traditional Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese teas in Cultivate’s collection and how we prepare them. As the education is extensive, please only apply if you could see yourself holding this position for a minimum of 2 years. 

Tasks will include:

• Opening and closing the shop

• Assisting clients select teas

• Hosting tea tastings and serving tea for guests

• Packing teas, preparing online orders and wholesale orders
