$18.50–$19.00/hr to start · Path to $25.00/hr
Cultivate is a tasting room and shop for rare tea, matcha, and ceramics — sourced directly from small producers across China, Taiwan, and Japan since 2014. We are looking for someone to join our team on Main Street.
This role is roughly 70% operations and 30% customer-facing. Most of your day is packing teas, processing orders, shipping, receiving stock, and keeping the space organized. When a customer walks in, you stop and help — making recommendations, preparing matcha lattes, and eventually hosting tastings. The role requires someone who can balance the discipline of repetitive operational work with a genuine passion and curiosity for tea — you are the face of Cultivate to every person who walks through the door.
Training takes three to four months. We are looking for someone who intends to stay at least two years. There is a clear path toward a supervisor or manager position for the right person.
Day-to-day
- Packing teas for wholesale and online orders
- Processing and shipping orders
- Receiving, labelling, and organizing stock
- Helping customers and making tea recommendations
- Making matcha lattes and preparing teas
- Restocking and maintaining the shop floor
- Opening and closing the shop
As you develop
- Hosting tea tastings
- Deep product knowledge across our full collection
- Operational ownership — inventory, ordering, shop management
- Managing the shop independently
Who this is for
Someone with a genuine interest in tea. You do not need to be an expert — but you should care. You are comfortable with physical, process-driven work and equally comfortable helping customers. This is a self-directed position — you will often be the only person in the shop. Two-month probation period. Minimum two-year commitment.
