Misho Oud Incense

Misho Incense comes to us from Shoyeido 松栄堂 , one of the most famous traditional Japanese incense companies outside of Japan. Shoyeido is based in Kyoto, where it was founded in 1705. 

The company’s catalogue is vast and varied in terms of ingredients, intention and quality. Misho is from their premium agarwood (oud) line, and has stood out to us not only because of our love of oud, but for its impeccable warmth and balance.  

We experienced this incense on our last trip to Japan in August, and have been trying it over the past few months at home and at the shop. Misho has become one of our go-to incenses for the colder season. It is a very robust and enveloping incense that seems to dispel any chill in the air, or in our person. The top layer of its scent is a grounding blend of various herbs, and the bottom layer is entirely composed of the deep sweetness of premium oud.
