Oolong
From this vast and storied category of tea, we have curated a collection that spans the breadth and depth of oolongs. An oolong is essentially a semi-oxidized tea, made of fresh leaves that were intentionally bruised so the leaves react with oxygen. How this bruising is done, where the leaves are from, and how they are finally processed divides oolong into several categories.
There are 4 overarching types of oolong, based on the geographic location:
Phoenix oolongs originate from Chaozhou, Guangdong.
Taiwanese oolongs originate from Taiwan.
Southern Fujian oolongs originate from Anxi, Fujian.
Northern Fujian oolongs, commonly known as “Cliff Oolongs,” originate in and around the Wuyi Mountains.
