Cultivate is looking for a part time Shop Assistant to join our team at the shop on Main Street.
We are looking for a tea enthusiast to join our team at the shop on Main Street.
This is an entry level position with room for growth! In the long term it is the intention that the selected person would move up to Shop Associate after a period of time familiarizing themselves with the business, our approach to hospitality, and our products.
This position will start as 3 days/15 hours per week. Following a trial and training period the hiree will be invited to maintain a flexible schedule, coming in during or outside of the shop’s opening hours, as is convenient for them.
This is a self-directed position, well suited to someone with attention to detail, patience, and who naturally takes initiative and responsibility towards tasks. Experience with hospitality, customer service, and retail will eventually be an asset, however in the beginning this will not primarily be a public-facing position.
We welcome any level of experience with tea, and look forward to educating the successful applicant on the traditional Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese teas in Cultivate’s collection.
Tasks will include:
- Opening and closing the shop
- Maintaining orderliness of the tea bar and displays
- Packing teas and preparing online orders
- Organizing and restocking teas and tea ware
- Cleaning
Eventual tasks will include:
- Serving teas
- Talking to customers about tea
- Hosting tastings
- Visual merchandising
