In this focused tasting session, we will be tasting the Wild Purple Shoots varietal, both crafted as a green tea, and crafted into the extremely rare yellow tea Yellow Purple Shoots. You will taste the incredible effect craftsmanship has and experience what constitutes yellow tea.

Wild Purple Shoots is a highly regarded, however somewhat forgotten, green tea from the remote jungles of the Guzhu Mountain Range in Changxing, Huzhou. It was a favourite varietal of Lu Yu, the highly-respected poet and self-taught scholar who authored what remains one of the most important texts on tea ever written, The Classic of Tea, around 780 AD. 

The tea master, Mr. Wang has crafted a tiny amount of this green tea into a yellow tea as well, which he has named Yellow Purple Shoots. Only 1500 grams were made for this year, and we are fortunate to be able to offer this rare tea for tasting.
