Our signature tasting is a personalized session for which we will assist you in selecting teas to create your own comparative menu.

You are invited to taste three different teas from our collection, chosen based on your interests, curiosities, and preferences.

The Cultivate Tasting

Premium “omakase” style tea tasting, your tasting is personalized for you.

Rare Teas$90 per person

You can choose to have us curate the tasting to focus on seasonal selections, teas that are interesting side-by-side, categories or regions that you are excited about, or rare teas that we carry in limited quantities.

Each tasting begins with an introduction to the teas that have been selected. We will discuss the significance of these teas, the story behind them, the history of their cultivation and craftsmanship, and their unique terroir.

Using gongfucha method, the teas will be properly prepared and poured for you, usually progressing through four infusions.

The Cultivate Tasting lasts roughly an hour, during which our entire tea bar will be dedicated to your group. We are able to host 1 to 6 guests at a time.

FAQS

1) I am only able to make 1 booking per time slot. How can my friend book a tasting at the same time?

You only need to book one tasting for your entire group, and specify in the Notes section how many people will be joining. We only host one group at a time at our tea bar.

2) How many guests can you accommodate for each tasting?

We can accommodate between 1 and 6 people at our tea bar.

3) Can I pay for a tasting online?

Payment is taken in person rather than at booking. If you’d like to pay online, purchase a Tea Tasting gift card on our gift card page: you’ll receive a code to pay with, then book online and bring the code when you come in.

4) Does the group taste the same teas during their tasting?

Yes, you will all be guided through the same tasting experience.

5) Can I add matcha or hojicha to my personalized tasting menu?

Yes, you are welcome to finish with a matcha or hojicha, but if you would like a tasting of only matcha and hojicha we suggest you book a Matcha Tasting with us instead.

6) Will there be a price adjustment to the tasting experience depending on which teas I choose?

Yes, we offer two price points of the Cultivate Tasting: Classic Teas for $60 per person or Rare teas for $90 per person. You are welcome to decide which one you would like to do when you arrive.

7) If I am not sure what teas to select can I still book the Cultivate Tasting?

Yes. For the Cultivate Tasting, we will start by asking you a few questions about your tea preferences and tasting preferences. Then we will give you a brief rundown of our collection of teas. You will spend some time smelling the teas. We will usually make recommendations and customize a tasting for you based on the teas that seemed interesting to you and your preferences.

8) How many teas will we get to try?

It depends on how many people are in your group. 3 teas for a group of 2, 4 teas for a group of 3-4, 5 teas for a group of 5-6.

9) How do I book a tasting?

Book online through our website, on the Tea Tasting page. You only need one booking for your whole party, since we host one group at a time - just note how many people are in your party in the Notes section. You don't pay when you book; payment is taken in person after your tasting.

10) How far in advance can I book?

You can book up to two months (60 days) in advance.

11) Can I add a person on the day?

Yes, up to a maximum of six people. It's best to note your party size in the Notes when you book, but you can add people on the day.

12) Can I change which tasting I booked?

Yes. Your booking reserves the time slot for your group, and you can change the tasting when you arrive. If you think you might change it, come in about ten minutes early so we have time to prepare the teas for you. The tasting is 45 - 60 minutes long, and it is possible that we have another booking after your group.
