Organic Crimson Rose
These vibrant blooms are grown on a small organic farm in the town of Heqing, Yunnan. They are called "Crimson," a varietal of rose that originated in France.
To craft them as tea each flower is carefully harvested by hand early in the morning, before the sun is too intense. Immediately after picking, the flowers are freeze-dried to preserve as much of their natural aromas, oils, minerals and vitamins as possible. The dried flowers smell sweet and caramelized, and have a commanding presence when all piled up together.
This tea is brewed using one whole flower. As soon as hot water hits it, the liquid turns sapphire blue. As the flower itself slowly drains its fuschia hue into the water, the blue shifts into a blushing, vibrant pink. Preparing the tea is an event in and of itself.
These roses make a vivid, clean, and remarkably soft tea. As soon as you taste the liquor, you realize how successful their cultivation and craftsmanship has been. This tea is a total experience of rose: dense, delicate, uplifting, and fortifying.
