These roses come from Suqian, Jiangsu Province — a place where roses have been cultivated since the Tang Dynasty, for roughly 1300 years.

The ones we have sourced for Cultivate are of the Pingyin varietal: they are a distinct pink colour with a blue-ish purple undertone, and are particularly rich in flavour.

Once the fresh rose buds are picked, they are allowed to air dry slowly over the course of 2 weeks. Nothing else is added to them before they are finished for use as tea. This is exactly how this flower tea has been crafted for centuries.

The result is a clear and direct encounter with the heart warming and beneficial properties of red roses. Their tea is richly aromatic, like potpourri, while soft and gentle on the palate. Drinking this tea is a beautiful experience, to say the least.
